Fall Is Coming: Why I Can't Wait for Autumn

Fall Is Coming: Why I Can't Wait for Autumn

Okay, I'm just going to say it — fall is the best season and I will not be taking questions. The second I feel that first hint of cool air in the morning, I am DONE with summer. Done. Give me the sweaters, the candles, the warm drinks, and please, for the love of everything, give me the flowers.

As the owner of a flower shop, fall is genuinely my favorite time of year. Like, I get emotional about it. The colors, the textures, the way everything just feels so rich and intentional — I could cry. (I have cried. Over dahlias. No regrets.)

The Colors Though

Spring is cute with its pastels. Summer is fun. But fall? Fall hits different. We're talking burnt orange dahlias, deep burgundy mums, rust-toned marigolds, and roses in the most gorgeous warm shades you've ever seen in your life. Add in some dried pampas grass, copper beech leaves, and hypericum berries and I am absolutely gone. It's giving cozy. It's giving moody. It's giving everything.

My Favorite Fall Blooms (I Have a Lot of Feelings About These)

  • Dahlias — the queen. The icon. The moment. I wait for dahlia season all year and I will not apologize for it.
  • Chrysanthemums — so underrated! They last forever and come in the most beautiful fall tones.
  • Sunflowers — still going strong into early fall and they pair so well with deeper, moodier colors.
  • Marigolds — bold, warm, and honestly kind of perfect.
  • Hypericum berries — tiny but mighty. The best little accent for texture and color.
  • Dried pampas and grasses — I am obsessed. They add this earthy, modern vibe that lasts for weeks.

Fall Occasions Are Everything

Autumn is literally packed with reasons to send flowers. Teacher appreciation, Friendsgiving, Thanksgiving, dinner parties, birthdays, anniversaries — it's the season of gathering and I am here for all of it. There's something about a fall arrangement on a dinner table that just makes everything feel more special. More intentional. More like you actually tried, you know?

You Don't Have to Wait for the Leaves to Turn

Honestly? Don't wait. Start bringing fall into your home now. A warm, richly colored arrangement can completely transform a space — your entryway, your kitchen table, your desk — into something that feels cozy and alive and like fall actually lives there.

My shop's Florist's Choice arrangement is a great option right now — just leave a note at checkout saying you'd love warm, fall-inspired tones and my team will make it happen. That's literally my favorite kind of note to get.

Fall Is Almost Here and I Am Ready

Keep an eye on the shop because fall at The Florist at Windward is something I pour my whole heart into every single year. And if you have a specific vision — a color palette, a vibe, a "I want it to look like a Pinterest board come to life" — call us at (770) 664-6111. We love that stuff.

Here's to cozy mornings, golden light, and the most beautiful flowers of the year. I'm so ready. 🍂✨
